For us, being featured is a pretty cool opportunity to show people outside of our regular clientele what we’ve been building here in historic downtown Snohomish, Washington.

A Snohomish Tattoo Shop Built Around Art

Unknown Tattoo Co. was established in 2015 and eventually made its home in downtown Snohomish, where we’ve been tattooing since 2020. Today, the shop is located on 1st Street in the heart of Snohomish’s historic district.

Our goal has always been pretty simple: make good tattoos in a comfortable shop with artists who genuinely care about what they do.

Tattooing is a huge part of what we do, but every artist brings their own background, influences, and approach to the work. That gives our clients the opportunity to work with an artist whose style fits their particular idea rather than trying to force every tattoo into the same look.

Whether someone walks through our doors with a fully developed concept or just a rough idea, our artists work with them to create something that makes sense for the person wearing it.

Custom Tattoos in Snohomish, Washington

One of the things that makes tattooing interesting is the sheer variety of work that can be created. At Unknown Tattoo Co., our artists work across a wide range of tattoo styles and subject matter.

That includes custom black and grey tattoos, American traditional, Japanese tattoos, fine line, realism, lettering, neo-traditional, horror, color tattoos, portraits, geometric work, and large-scale custom sleeves.

Rather than approaching tattooing as a one-size-fits-all process, we believe the artist and client should work together to create something that fits the individual.

Sometimes that means taking a very specific idea and turning it into a finished tattoo. Other times, it means taking a handful of references, ideas, or themes and building something completely custom from them.

More Than Just a Tattoo Shop

Part of what makes Unknown Tattoo Co. unique is the environment inside the shop.

We have a team of resident tattoo artists with different specialties and artistic backgrounds, along with guest artists who periodically travel to Snohomish from around the country and beyond.

We want people to feel comfortable stopping in, looking through portfolios, talking with an artist, or simply checking out the shop before deciding who they want to work with.

And while appointments are recommended for larger projects or clients looking for a specific artist, we also welcome walk-ins.

That combination of custom tattooing, different artistic styles, walk-in availability, and a relaxed environment has helped Unknown Tattoo Co. become part of the Snohomish tattoo community.

Tattooing in Historic Downtown Snohomish

Location is another part of the experience.

Unknown Tattoo Co. is located at 1118 1st Street in Snohomish, Washington, right in the city’s historic downtown district. The shop is in the Pioneer Building, with the entrance located in the alley off Avenue C.
